Getting The Right Fill Level
Achieving the correct fill level in your products is crucial for maintaining quality and consistency, ensuring that your customers view your brand as trustworthy and reliable. However, accurately setting up fill levels with an overflow nozzle can be challenging. In this article, we will guide you through the most efficient method to set the fill level on a pressure overflow filling machine.
Pressure Overflow Explained
A pressure overflow nozzle allows excess liquid to flow back into the tank through the return port. When the liquid reaches the nozzle’s opening, any additional liquid flows through the return port back into the tank, thus establishing the desired fill level.
Setting Your Fill Levels
- Lower the Nozzles: Begin by lowering your nozzles into the bottles. The liquid level stops at the nozzle opening inside the bottle unless adjusted.
- Adjust the Nozzle: To modify the nozzle level, remove the gray spacers that adjust the nozzle depth inside the bottle. This involves removing the seal washer that holds them in place. Refer to the photo on the right for guidance.
- Spacer Adjustment: The spacers come in varying lengths from 1/8-inch to 1 1/2-inches. Arrange these spacers to achieve the perfect depth in the bottle and the correct fill level.
Additional Tips
- Quick Level Adjustment: Mark the nozzle opening when you first lower the nozzle into the bottle. Compare this with your desired fill level and measure the difference. Adjust the spacers to match this difference. For instance, if the nozzle is too high by 1/4-inch, remove a 1/4-inch spacer to lower the depth accordingly, achieving the desired fill level.
